In direct response to compounding threats that will permanently degrade our beloved Lake Winnipesaukee, The Founders’ Group is funding the launch of LWA’s Legacy Strategy, the most ambitious and promising endeavor ever undertaken to safeguard the lake.
As described in the Legacy Strategy’s Blueprint for Lasting Protection, launching the strategy entails bold actions that harness advanced research, powerful digital technologies, and purposeful engagement of all those who care about and depend on a healthy Lake Winnipesaukee.
Together, our focus is on reducing and/or stopping impacts on the lake at their source. Of paramount importance is reducing nutrients from excessive stormwater runoff and failing septic systems that feed cyanobacterial blooms. No less important is keeping additional destructive invasive species out of the lake.
Making this unprecedented work possible at the speed and scale mounting threats demand is The Founders’ Group, whose uncompromising financial commitments of $100,000 or more will make all the difference in realizing sustained results and lasting success.
We are working to raise $2.25 million in gifts and pledges to fully launch the Legacy Strategy by the end of this year.
