At the Lake Winnipesaukee Association’s request, the Nelson A. Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and the Social Sciences at Dartmouth College completed a policy brief on the net economic value that the lake brings to New Hampshire.  The study focused on three sectors; real estate values, business revenues, and water supply.

Every town surrounding Lake Winnipesaukee, in addition to the New Hampshire state government, has the authority to make policy decisions that affect the lake. With the valuation provided by this report, policymakers will better understand the mechanisms by which and the extent to which Lake Winnipesaukee benefits the state. This knowledge may guide future policymaking and contribute to further research into the value of Lake Winnipesaukee and other bodies of water throughout the region.

The Lake Winnipesaukee Association presented a summary of the report and discussed the work of the Association to protect this valuable asset.

We thank all of our friends and members that were able to join us for our annual meeting and hope to see you again next year!
